We have been named as one of the UK’s 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways – the only chippy in the town to make the prestigious list.
The accolade follows an extensive six month search by leading trade publication Fry Magazine to find those takeaways serving up the finest fish suppers.
To make the 50 Best, Mister C’s had to impress a mystery diner who visited unannounced and marked the chippy on over 40 aspects of their business from the quality of the food and customer service to cleanliness and value for money.
Mister C’s scored an impressive 96% with the mystery diner particularly praising the smart and professional staff, freshly cooked to order food and details of where it sources its food.
The mystery shopper commented “The shop was busy and there were a number of staff members, all going about their work in a cheery manner. Everyone looked happy and they were busy, but in good spirits. Overall, it seemed a good atmosphere.”
“There were three sizes of fish available for the haddock and two options for the cod, as well as plaice cooked to order. Other items available included fishcakes, sausages, pies and a number of chicken options. I felt this was a good selection for a fish and chip shop.”
Mark Corbally, Director, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised again by Fry Magazine and in particular the feedback about our staff is testament to their commitment and hardwork.”
Reece Head, competition organiser, comments: “Reece Head, competition organiser, comments: “Once again we’ve got a fantastic list of fish and chip shops spanning the breadth of the UK who put their all into their business, their staff and their food.
